Japanese Motors, 'Single Fins & Safety Pins' -- Free MP3 of the Day Exclusive

From Costa Mesa, Calif., comes Japanese Motors -- a band that reflects the surroundings. Gritty, feel-good, surf-influenced garage rock 'n' roll is what the young quartet does best. They have been making noise in Southern California for awhile and are now commanding the attention of the nation with an East Coast tour and an Emmett Malloy-directed video in the works. "Most of our friends are artists of various sorts in the sense that they don't want to have real jobs; we figured one of these artists would do it," vocalist Alex Knost told Spinner. "After asking Emmett, a true pro in the art of moviemaking, he said he would love to. Some people call it the hands of fate."
"In California you have sunglasses, the sand, sun, love, lust, indulgence, the trends, etc" said Knost, explaining the band's feel-good sunburned sound. "Somewhere along the line the advice [we got] "write about what you know, love and aspire to be. We know about all the things California, because we live here," Knost continued. Spinner is excited to debut an MP3 of 'Single Fins & Safety Pins.'
